Orange is the new Black by Piper Kermen

1 Star
If I could give it less, I would. It starts out as a person who REALLY wants to show off her vocabulary. Then it continues on a disjointed path. You aren't really told much of anything about her involvement in the drug smuggling, in fact, it feels as if she completely downplays it to the point where she doesn't actually believe she does anything - she's just along for the ride. I couldn't finish it. I made it to her first day in prison and decided that I'd rather go wash out bedpans with a toothbrush than continue to read another sentence of this crap. Beyond the writing style that I didn't care for at all, her complete lack of ownership just pissed me off. You were a drug mule. You knew it. You did it. You went to prison for it. Suck it up buttercup. Don't read this book. If you really want to know what it's about, watch the show. I hear that's fairly decent (mostly because they stray from the drivel in the book so much). I want my money back.

Tales from Galdrilene by A.D. Trosper

5 Stars
Short and sweet. I want to know more about Emallya, Rylin, and the beginning of the war. This books sets up an amazing fantasy, enticing the reader, making you crave more. Definitely read this before Embers, but make sure you have Embers handy when you start reading!

Flat out loved this book. For a Young Adult, it had everything an adult reader could ask for in a book. I'm so god I read A New Beginning prior to reading Embers and I can't WAIT to pick up Tears of War. If you like fantasy, dragons (who doesn't?!?), adventure, or just a flat out amazing read- pick up this book. I don't even want to tell you anything about it - I don't want to risk ruining what is set up to be an EPIC fantasy.

Possess Saga by J.A. Howell

4 Stars
Very fun book. It was exciting and had you not wanting to put it down. I enjoyed how strong Harley seemed, especially after her abusive relationship. You don't see very many women in that situation with her strength. And stupidity. What bothered me about this book was how unbelievably obvious the identity of the killer was, and how no one could seem to connect the blazingly obvious signs. That aside, the relationship and tension between Harley and Nolan was hot. This is a great, fun read.

Such a fun short story. I loved hearing about Claire's death from his perspective. My heart broke with Aggie, even though I knew it was coming. I can't want to start book 3 in this saga. Ms. Howell really knows how to captivate a reader.

While this may be book 4 in the series, you don't miss much if you skip. (Although, I'd recommend reading book three first, there are some references and I have to go back and get it.)
Aww! Super cute! This is the book for every sappy romantic out there. While I think Harley is a rather weepy main character (which is frustrating because I liked her so much in the first book), I greatly enjoyed this story. It's my firm belief that communication is key in any healthy relationship and this story continues to prove that true. However, had Harley and Nolan simply been honest with each other, this story probably wouldn't have happened. I still don't like Nolan's mother.

Bound by Time by Audra Trosper

5 Stars
Such a sweet, romantic and action packed story. From the onset, you're drawn in and intrigued by everything going on. I never knew a window could be so menacing! I love Isobel and Damien and can't wait to read more in this world. It's just so much fun! Ms. Trosper is such a good storyteller, weaving the tale and keeping you enchanted as each page is turned. Love it!
